Project Scope

The project scope includes the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a cloud-based centralized management system for water pumps across various borewell stations in Karachi. This comprehensive system integrates data acquisition, monitoring, and control capabilities to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Background:

The client operates multiple borewell pump stations distributed over an area of approximately 20 square kilometers, playing a crucial role in supplying fresh water to Karachi. Traditionally, these pump stations were manually operated, necessitating multiple daily visits by operators to adjust pump operations based on fluctuating water demands. This manual process was time-consuming, costly, and inefficient, prompting the need for a more automated and centralized solution.

System Description:

FAIZAL implemented an advanced centralized management system, featuring:

1. Data Acquisition (DAQ) Panels:
   • Installed at each pump station, each DAQ panel includes an Intelligent Edge Gateway, IO Modules, and an Energy Meter.
   • Connected to existing pump starter panels to facilitate automatic pump operation based on pre-configured schedules.
   • Capable of capturing and transmitting various critical parameters including pump status, earth leakage status, overload status, and power parameters (voltage, current, energy consumption, etc.).
2. Communication and Alerts:
   • The DAQ system communicates with a centralized management platform via an RS-485 network.
   • Equipped with SMS alert functionality for real-time notifications of critical events.
3. Centralized Management Platform:
   • Data from all pump stations is aggregated and stored in a centralized database.
   • Provides real-time monitoring, analysis, and reporting through user-friendly dashboards.
   • Allows for remote configuration and modification of pump schedules, authenticated via One-Time Passwords (OTP) sent to registered phone numbers.
